INM Ice Cream blockThe Fountains is partnering with Sweet Town Ultimate Ice Cream Experience on Sunday night June 2nd from 5pm-7pm to help end malaria in Africa. How? By eating ice cream, of course!  Come enjoy an ice cream at Sweet Town (16754 E Glenbrook in Fountain Hills) and a portion of the proceeds will go to the “Imagine no Malaria” campaign, a collaboration between the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, the World Health Organization, and the United Methodist Church.

Imagine No Malaria is an ambitious project to clear Africa of the Anopheles Mosquito and break the infection cycle. This three year project has already been successful in reducing the number of deaths by about half. This next push is to distribute testing and treatment kits throughout over three hundred clinics in sub-Saharan Africa. The Fountains and Sweet Town are doing their part in Fountain Hills to introduce the community the Imagine No Malaria campaign and raise money to save lives.

So, come be a part of this great campaign and tell your children how you had a hand in wiping the scourge of malaria from an entire continent.  Many thanks to Jason Zoffka for opening Sweet Town on an off night and returning a portion of the proceeds from sales to the drive.

AND, for a $10 donation, you’ll receive an Imagine No Malaria bracelet — and  100% of your $10 goes directly to transportation, testing, and inoculation of one victim on site.  Look for the lime-green wristbands around town demonstrating one life saved.  For more info contact Jay Shuler – coordinator of the Imagine No Malaria drive for Fountain Hills: (480) 304-2864.
